Our Mission

The KAI Music Education Fund is a 501 C 3 not for profit organization that was established in 2022 by the Ingerson family upon the retirement of their mother, Kathryn Amore Ingerson, from public school teaching.  Our mission is to provide financial support to those individuals who possess talent and potential, and are committed to pursuing higher education in the field of music.  It is our ultimate goal to ensure that quality music professionals continue to enhance the life of our communities, schools and world through their passionate work.

Applications for scholarships are available in January of each year with a deadline in March.  Along with a completed application, each individual is required to:

1) provide two (2) letters of recommendation from instructors

2) complete an essay

3) provide an audition video

All documents are to be submitted online through our website: apply@kaimusicfund.org

All parts of the application including the videos, will be reviewed by a committee of music professionals and KAImusicfund administrators.  Recipients will be informed of their selection by April 1, of each year.

Scholarship recipients are expected to perform on the annual KAI Music Scholarship Recital program in the spring of each year. This year’s program will take place on Thursday, May 23th, 2024 at 7:00pm, Clayton Opera House.
