Application

The following guidelines should be used when submitting your application: 

 

1. Apply using the online form.

2. After submitting your application, you will be emailed a link to a cloud drive where you will upload

- Two (2) letters of recommendation 

- Essay (see criteria below)

- Video Audition (see criteria below)


Essay Criteria: Please submit an essay detailing your future goals in music.  This piece should be no less than 500 words. It should begin with your past musical experiences, immediate plans for college and include your career goals.  Explain how and why music has become such an important part of your life and how you will plan to use your profession for the greater good. 


Video Audition Criteria: Each student must submit 2 selections which display contrasting styles. At the beginning of each video, the applicant must CLEARLY state their name, school and the title and composer of the pieces they will be performing. You may opt to send a link to a Youtube.com site or anywhere else where you have uploaded your videos. All videos must be current.  Please use your best judgement in following standard performance dress code for the video.


All documents/videos must be received no later than close of business on April 1, 2026. 


A committee has been formed to review all parts of your application, including your performance video.  Recipients will be notified of their selection by April 30, 2026. 

SAVE THE DATE!  All scholarship recipients will perform on the KAI Music Scholarship Recital program in the summer of 2026.  Venue and date TBA.
